I hope "delete" never becomes an option on the #nostr protocol, because if that were to happen, I'd instantly become more careless in my posting. Knowing I can't delete or edit is teaching me to choose my words more carefully.
If I change my mind on an opinion I've posted, I'll just reply to it saying that opinion has been updated. No big deal.

 There is "request deletion" which I've definitely used for typos or whatever
