Follower counts are a force which gravitate people to the larger accounts. I have probably missed a lot of great follows simply because they had less than 100 followers. Subconsciously, I may have dismissed their opinions and that’s not right.
Conversely, my brain wants to autofollow anyone with over (eg.5000) followers
I think follower accounts should be private for the owner of the account. Anyway, just my 2 Sats.
to be honest... Nostr has flipped this for me.
I'm much more inclined to follow low follower count high signal npubs then 5000 + follower npubs
I find there's less arrogance and more willingness to chat

This combined with the "suggested follows" on Primal create a large divide
Primal says I should follow someone who has 20k followers but hasn't posted in 6 months?
What the fuck for?

That would be an interesting experiment. I'm not sure if it's technically feasible with nostr
I hate that I am not immune to this too.
