They’re really clueless if they would eat TERF apple crisp. Clearly they haven’t figured out what a bigot you are, Nina.
TERF apple crisp is the most delicious they've ever had though. I just put away the little remaining leftovers (everyone had seconds) and it's damn tasty if I may say so myself.
Here's my best attempt to recipe-ize what I did. I didn't actually measure the volume of apple slices I ended up with, but it all fit perfectly in a deep 11x15 baking pan.

TERF Apple Crisp
September 17, 2023

FILLING:
About 10-12 cups thinly sliced cooking apples
Approx 2” finger fresh ginger, minced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice (more or less, depending on tartness of apples)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 to 2 tablespoons butter

TOPPING:
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar, or white sugar, or a mix
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tsp ground dry ginger
1/2 cup butter, or more

Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease 11”x15” baking pan, or any size baking dish(es) sufficient to hold the apples.

Mix apple slices with lemon juice in bowl as you slice them, so they don’t oxidize. Add ginger, sugar, remaining lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. Taste a small slice to check balance, add more lemon juice or sugar if needed. Add a few thin slices of butter and the quarter-cup flour, and stir. Pour into greased pan or baking dish(es).

Combine oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and ground ginger. Cut in sliced butter. I used a fork, then switched to a whisk, but the proper tool is probably a pastry knife. Pound/stir/whisk/ whatever until everything’s well mixed. Spoon evenly over apples. Add a few thin pats of butter on top if you feel like it.

Bake about an hour, or until filling starts to bubble a bit.

Serve warm with Aldi super-premium vanilla ice cream.
