When people ask me why I converted from Roman Catholic to Orthodox Catholic I’m just going to start saying this because some of you RCs are gay little crackheads about it tbh https://image.nostr.build/a13209a31881e16b04078ee4755370988825ff15524db873db6e39236d6b1b15.jpg
What is the difference between the two religions?

Please compare and contrast if you can.

I'm a recovering RC.
They’re not exactly two different religions because they’re both Christianity but with different theologies esp christology and different authority structures. A key difference in authority is the lack papal supremacy. They have a lot in common but are also different haha
They both come from the same root of pre-schism Christian Catholicity and just are two different directions the church has gone over time
I am left more confused than before lol.
It’s all one big church with an insane amount of infighting 😅
As a recently recovered Catholic (few more than a year), if I may suggest you, focus on reading the scriptures, History of the Church and the writings of the early Church Fathers, stick to the sacraments, especially Confession. Do it for real. Prepare with a deep conscience exam, repent and go with a contrite heart.
More important: STAY OUT OF POLEMICS.

Jesus changes our lives, but it's quite easy to fall if we don't keep improving our spiritual life.

Read the saints' life and chose one you identify the most to inspire you (mine is St. Augustine).

History of the Church by Daniel-rops is probably the greatest and trustable historical source. It's a 10 volumes collection.

If I may suggest also, read the Catechism of St. Pius X. It's the most direct and objective for new converters.

Unfortunately I'm not able to recommend social media sources in English, but if you're Catholic, stick to Catholic sources.

May peace be with you
