Please pray for me as I begin on a journey that's long overdue https://image.nostr.build/5a682de6d8d99a4381a34c9ed1af37e4e9262b464f5b7004794ae2b3d575074e.jpg
 🫂
YES, I AM CURRENTLY HALF WAY THROUGH 🙏
Book of Job is my jam
Job = Light gives. Darkness takes. We get confused.
 Love that for you
Excellent to see. I started a little over a year ago.

The advice that helped me was to begin with the gospels and go back to read the old testament in chunks 🙏
 I received similar advice

Starting with John and working my way through the gospels at the moment
 great advice!
I will… for there are only two ways to live in this life… one way leads to blessing… the other to final destruction.

Psalm 1

The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

Blessed/Happy is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
        nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
        planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
 The wicked are not so,
but they are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
        nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
it's a life long endeavor to understand it. bible project has an excellent podcast to aid understanding. another approach is to listen to it. I listened through it three times on my commute last year. really helps in making connections between different parts.
 Get it brother!
 You'll love it

Then read it again
 That Bible is suspiciously thin.
 it's this one btw

several people recommended the NIV as an accessible starting point though I'm sure I'll explore other versions in the future https://image.nostr.build/419f831f5aeace5f8374e0525e6fcc7154c0874352fb8a45b383b77f26a75449.jpg
Oh it's a protestant version. I'm no expert but was raised under catholic church, so I always make sure to read catholic approved versions.
I was raised Christian Orthodox, went to Catholic school, and am now reading this version of the Bible 🤣
followed and will be praying, amazing news brother!
If this is your first time … welcome. 🙏 I’ve read the Bible multiple times in my life & it always offers various interpretations. Enjoy.
I recommend reading the Essence of the Bhagavad Gita at the same time.

Also, it’s just a book. A useful book. It’s not God. God is God. Book is book.
 Nice. I’m 1/3 through ESV
Praying! Do you plan to read cover to cover starting with Genesis or will you read the New Testament first?
aw man am I going to have to unfollow you already? what percentage of your notes are going to be weird religious stuff?
 I'm into fiction, too.
Love your new profile pic… it’s like you’re scanning for relays with the laser eye. 👁️
@PurpleHorse ⚡️ give you the laser eye upgrade? 😀
thought this was a mining rig for a second
Looking forward to your hearing your thoughts and impressions. Dr Radmacher does an excellent “how to study your Bible” series from the 90s that I found especially helpful. Folks often want to take their western thinking and impose it on the text Or misinterpret the context or intended meaning. He does a good job at building on an easy to understand hermeneutic. I can figure out how to push the MP3s somewhere if interested.
If you have any questions, please ask me. #LatinRite #Catholic
If Im not here, go to Catholic.com and search there
God Bless!
 The book of truth!
I did exactly this just over a year ago. The result was absolutely life changing. Bitcoin is truth and (by God’s grace) I followed that thread to Truth Himself. Truth is out there for us to know it/Him, firstly through our reason and then enlightened through faith (reason and faith never contradict) as is beautifully portrayed by Dante in the Divine Comedy. I’d be more than happy to share my story, experience, and/or thoughts if it’s of interest. One thing I would encourage is that you attend mass, especially with Holy Week coming up. A profound celebration that really brought everything together when I first attended last year. Praying for you 🙏 ✝️
