That makes sense to me. I already use a VPN, so I'd just have to point it somewhere outside the US, if Alby ended up having to do that. Still, I think I will keep the amount of sats I have in Alby to a bare minimum and move them over to one of the self-custody wallets that have been suggested.
Of course, never keep any btc in a place you don't own or control. Alby and the like are checkbook money, not savings money or investment money.
