The Breitspurbahn was Hitler's project to build a network of 3m wide broad gauge high speed railways.

Understandably cancelled before it could reach Manchester, what with losing the war and everything, the ferocious technical challenges were not helped by the insistence that the network could also cope with lugging the odd warship about.
