I read this twice. The first time, it made me worried. The second time, it made me suspicious. I think it's an attempt to induce fear in the community. Since when do I need to be worried about the needs, desires or whims of the majority of people in the world? As I see it, those that truly want Bitcoin will get it and I don't need to force them to do that.

Others have their Bitcoin in custodial places just because they want. No one should be held liable for their irresponsibility 

People are worried that transactions will cost thousands of dollars because they use dollars in the first place (which are always depreciating)

"The existing power structures *want* stasis". That's false. Existing power structures are big reformists. They always want to change the rules to their own will, like playing god. Every dollar printed is like a new rule (or decree) that changes the game in different and unpredictable ways
