Finally took some time to setup an @Alby hub & go wallet … super smooth took less than 5 min 🚀
I’ve been using alby allot during testing and developing so again one step closer to a less custodial development flow 🏴‍☠️
Are you running your own node?
 Yes 🫡
Cool. Found this tutorial for setting up a start9. Curious to hear your thoughts and any other recommendations for setup. Very much a noob still in this space so I appreciate the intel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzikmY4S42Y
The most noob route is via alby hub, run on your device via the app or in the cloud via sats subscription ✌️ but start 9 / umbrell are also easy starting ways
Okay that’s what I’ve understood. Don’t think I’m a fan of the cloud subscription. Would rather just learn to run my own node and be fully sovereign 🤘🏼
 Here’s a pleb friendly Start9 DIY video that @Spencer and @DuhLaurien ✌🏻👽💨 did.

Brilliant thank you will give it a watch 🤘🏼
Cool. You can build something like this and run AlbyHub on it so you don’t have to pay the monthly subscription.
Yeah the monthly sub is something that I don’t want to do for sure. I haven’t watched yet, but how is this different than getting one of the start9 units?
You can just run the alby hub on any device that has enough memory, a toaster … a fridge … no monthly sub
Interesting. But in order to process payment transactions, say from a web-shop, would it be better to use something else? Or am I completely missing something
you can use NWC or the alby account to have a standard rest API interface to check payments
Little bit beyond me to comprehend how to do that. Interesting though id like to look into that. Another question I have is accessing it remotely as I do travel a lot
Tailscale or Headscale are easy ways to setup remote connections / network access.
 Very cool thank you!
Can run AlbyHub on a pi zero if you wanted.
It’s cheaper since you can use an old PC you might have lying around.

$600 for the Start9 box or DIY it for $200 or less if you have some pieces on hand like a mini PC or 2TB HDD.
Hmm gotcha. Will watch the vid later and report back if I have my more q’s. I really appreciate the help guys 🤘🏼
The @The Nodestrich ♾️ Telegram group is also a good resource.

Awesome thanks D! Going to join the group
I'm pretty green with tech stuff, but I've managed to set up a LND node on umbrel, and linking it to Alby hub and Go as well as Zeus was easy once I had my set up working.

Took me a long time to get to the point of actually doing it, but with all these ways to interface with my own node coming out I'm sort of glad it took that time.
Yeah I feel like that is where I’m at; taking the time to learn everything and then dive into doing this. Why not the start9 for you? Also, are you accessing the node remotely?
Just the first time I got something running consistently other than an SSD on an old laptop with Bitcoin core and constant resyncing when I needed to use Sparrow. Finally managed to get umbrel working after having reflash a couple times.

I occasionally access through Tor but Zeus has been sufficient. And I still use the laptop with Sparrow connected to my electrum server. Like I said I'm not very good at all this. Sort of just my play thing right now.

Now that I've got one going I'd like to get a Start 9 OS running someday.
It's shockingly easy to set up Alby Hub and Alby Go.

And why we can't zap you sir
That’s more of a statement than a question but yes it is also the reason 😄 le me see what’s wrong with the lnurlp files
