The idea of nukes was driven into all of us from a young age, largely through movies. Perhaps the occasional documentary.

I think people are unreasonable afraid of nukes. Chemical and biological warfare is far more terrifying, and its very real... unlike nukes.
Nuke the whales and reopen 3 mile Island
We came so close to Nuclear annihilation during the Bay of Pigs crisis that this sounds extremely naive.

I think the emphasis should never have been on the bombs themselves though, but the stupidity of politicians... And they've only gotten far, far dumber since.

Covid19 was a great bunch of examples of our government nearly killing us all (and probably succeeded in halving our birth rate) just because they are so incompetent & greedy while holding too much power.

This theme happens time and time again, and one day will be the end of humanity.
The effects of the shots will likely continue for years if not decades, based on the data I've been seeing. Politicians are useful idiots for the MIC and other bad actors, but they facilitated it rather than creating the problem.

No amount of propaganda will make me scared of nukes. Everything they have shown is to this point is comedy to me. Even the fallout is said to dissipate within days. If they are real, it would be a quick death and something I spend no time worrying about. If we are talking slow, painful effects from chemical and biological weapons, it would be much worse from my perspective.

You do realize that the instant death part of a blast is only for those in the immediate detonation crater area, whereas dozens of miles of blast zone in all directions beyond that tend to feature some of the most extreme human suffering ever conceived by mankind, right?

People with half their skin melted off in disintegrated buildings over the next few miles, then blindness, flattened homes & guaranteed cancer for the next few miles, and then slow-kill radiation out for 10 miles beyond that... And then of course the hospitals are all flattened and there is no drinkable water for 100 miles in any direction... Fun times indeed!
Yes, if you believe in movies and fairy tales. I, however, don't.
This is the kind of stuff used to fear monger people into believing in this nonsense, if you don't see the issue here then the propaganda worked.

I've always laughed at the bad 50's propaganda that they showed in classrooms, like the infamous "Duck and Cover" films to keep kids sleeping at night... But have you ever been near an explosion, and felt the shockwave? Now multiply that by 25 Kilotons... None of what I described before is surprising under those conditions.
I know there are big bombs and I have felt shockwaves from explosions, the biggest was a factory that blew up not too far from me once upon a time, it was quite something considering the distance.

If nukes happened, nothing could be done about it anyway. It's just not something I worry about. Other attacks can be mitigated to some degree with prep.
Well apparently I don't worry about it either or I wouldn't live within 5 miles of both a Raytheon and a Northrup Grumman factory. ;)

But if you know that shockwaves & radioactivity exist, why is the rest of what I described hard to swallow?
I don't have a strong opinion about it, I just think that based on what I've seen them present, I doubt the veracity of their claims overall. Big bomb, sure, but exaggerated.
I only persist because I see your Gadsden flag-themed logo and assume you're no fan of governments. I'm having trouble understanding exactly what exactly you're doubting since you seem to know that governments do bad things.

My position is that if a big bomb exists that could do this, having such a sociopathic government is a surefire recipe for it getting used and therefore starting armageddon.

The only thing keeping nukes from flying at each other is MAD game theory... And our leaders don't seem competent enough to me to respect that anymore.
