This post is inspired by a discussions earlier today with @john and @The Beave about building a Braille Bitcoin wallet to enable the blind to self custody Bitcoin.

The black and white photo is my Dad (right) who was best man at his best friend Bernard Chapman's (left) wedding.

The colour photo is Bernards son Julian, who was best man at my wedding.

Julian is in Blackpool with Betty Chen from our Taiwanese office and Barbara Knox an actress from the British soap opera Coronation Street who was there celebrating the installation of a giant sign board we had built for the Sandcastle.

Julian's father designed a Braille reader for computers back in the DOS days, when he sadly passed away too soon, his son Julian took on the project, but was thwarted by the success of Windows GUI systems.

So Julian pivoted his company to sell the solenoids and stepper motors he had became an expert in as part of his Braille reader design work. He still runs that company today.

Snapshots of only the good
 We'd need the help of:
-an electrical engineer
-a software developer who can interface hardware with the BTC universe
-a mechanical engineer (I have a friend who is perfectly qualified)

Someone already did the hard part of creating a simple, cost effective resetable braille module:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXi1tG78AW4

Packaging this into a simple form factor will take skills that I don't have, even if I could build them from a parts kit and 3D print all the necessary parts on my own. The circuit board design is way out of my scope. I cannot program anything. I do, however, have extensive project management skills and bring a very wide breadth of fabrication knowledge and testing knowhow.

Anyway... This is a very worthy project. Who wants to help?
When slightly further down the road, it might be worth contacting Julian.

Not only does his firm have many of the resources you need, but it is for him, an unfinished project that will re-connect him to the memory of this Father.

I would suggest he would probably have mechanical and electrical resources in-house, but may need to source software resources.
 Very cool!
  @Translator Japanese
Looks like it didn’t work for you here

The bot can’t handle multiple links currently, I still need to figure that out

Instead try “Translator Japanese text” this will ignore the links and just do the text content

Should work with single images though, let me know if you have any problems with it
 🙏

And thanks for the refund.

Fascinating project. Good luck 👍
