That’s good. Has Damus done anything to help users with ReplyGuy? No. My purple subscription hasn’t helped one iota dealing with spam.
I haven’t noticed much of the spam anymore and we have some similar relays, including Damus. Maybe I should create a burner npub and just use the recommended relays to see what most new users experience.
I get spammed on every post. Purple hasn’t helped at all. I donated to Will before Damus Purple was a thing and now that it is a thing I get nothing.

Me and @phil run https://relay.nostr.com.au We have done since January 2023 - trying to help keep Nostr decentralised. Our relay hasn’t spread any ReplyGuy spam because it’s gated by 6969 Sats payment for whitelisting. Your client is showing it though. My relay set isn’t the problem. Not being able to filter obvious spammers through my preferred client Damus is.

it's a difficult issue because everyone has different relay sets, so there no way to know what users are seeing spam and what users are not. The only thing I can reliably suggest is people use my relays since I don't see the spam. I'm also just a single dude who already spends way too much time on nostr when I could be building instead. I am not a corporation with a massive team helping every single person on the network who is having issues without me knowing it. I do help everyone who messages me on here though, I am pretty good at replying to most mentions since I have notedeck open all day on my computer.

But this is the second time I missed out on Damus updates that matter to me as a User. And by matter I mean, every Damus user should know this stuff because without it the UX is massively degraded. I’ve dealt with ReplyGuy for more than a week now, unnecessarily, which could have been avoided if I just knew what you just shared. Please start using the @damus account better and putting stuff out there. Do it multiple times. I’d rather see the solution to a problem 3X than 0X as has been the case here. Use @damus to inform Users better. We know you’re one man, we don’t want to tag you in everything, so use the official channel and we’ll spread it from there. I feel fukn retarded knowing now I could have avoided all this spam if I just understood my client properly.
