 People would find reasons to war, they always have. It’s never just been about money or resources. Sometimes it’s been women, it’s been to have a bigger kingdom/money. Money matters when it’s they only motive or primary motive but history has plenty where money isn’t the motive

Would a government / population stomach draining their surplus and/or increasing taxation to fund a war and send their people to fight?
