Perhaps, but to suggest he is attacking bitcoin is clearly untrue. His work, and the work of many others, over the years is, in part, why we are all here using bitcoin.
Just block out the noise, check out the pool, or just watch the project evolve into something beautiful over the next 12 months.
I don’t think I ever suggested that this is an attack on bitcoin… I think it’s clear that Luke would like to see changes to core that could even result in a softfork, but that is part of the natural progression of the protocol.
My concerns are more around the mode of implementation, but more deeply probably just the communication (or lack thereof). Admittedly, the more I have read into the old Bitcoin core PRs I actually see a lot of consistency in what Luke is trying to do with ocean. Unfortunately, I don’t think his comments on Twitter have adequately reflected that at all.
I hope he can bring some of his thoughts together and share them more cohesively with the community either on his own or through ocean.
I didn’t mean to suggest you had said such a thing, but a few others have.
All the best. 🫂
