A group of nearly 11,000 creatives, including Hollywood actress Julianne Moore and musicians Björn Ulvaeus (ABBA) and Robert Smith (The Cure), have warned against the use of their work to train artificial intelligence (AI) models. In a joint letter, they argue that the unlicensed use of creative works for training generative AI is a "major, unjust threat" to the livelihoods of artists. The letter was organized by British composer Ed Newton-Rex, who recently quit Stability AI over its practices.
