On the third day I asked him what his buddies name was. His eyes went wide at the realization that he didn't know. 

First I love kids ability to play like this.

Second, that reminded me of nostr. I don't need to know your names to learn from you and for us to have a great time.

 When my son was young, he was awful with names, but very social.  He would introduce everyone, even someone he met 5 minutes ago as "my friend."
