If it was possible then it is a much bigger loss for individual freedom.
How? What are you even saying?
Are you suggesting there have never been organic non-gmo options at the grocery store?
Do you think when you go to McDonalds someone has a gun to your head forcing you to?
Does McDonalds make you sign a contract saying running on the treadmil is illegal after you eat there?
Take responsibility for your own health, period.
If people were free to choose health but instead kept poisoning themselves so much that they had to elect a health czar to fix things for them like an authoritarian, it means that individual freedom doesn't work. It always come back to authoritarianism.
Your assumption is that everyone is unhealthy but that's not true, we want a public official who cares about health because we want to set a HIGHER standard for health than already exists. If you have public officials who conspire to poison people who are already irresponsible and unhealthy, that is a recipe for disaster. It's not authoritarian to criminalize poisons that are being sold as food, that is humanitarian.
Not to mention, there are far too many public health officials that already exist and do far more authoritarian things, and they need to be removed. Replaced by officials that actually care. Ideally they wouldnt even exist, but we dont live in some idealistic utopia
