I feel about a well made pair of wool socks. The heel takes a lot of skill to do well, and requires three needles , sometimes four . Totally agree that people have lost respect for the effort that goes into things.
There are manually operated so called hand knitting machines for home use, that can speed the process up a lot. You can do one row in just seconds, but it may be less fun, because you're not as mobile. They are basically a flat row of hooks that hold the loops of a row of yarn for the thread to be knitted through.
Hard labor teaches lessons bruh..that beautifully crafted sweater is Proof of Work.
