I can never tell if I should yet again re-lower my faith in their technical competence or if they just realized they did something very dumb/illegal and are hoping to play a “I was hacked” excuse 👀
I once had someone call me and say they were from my credit card company and wanted me to give them personal information to prove it was me, I refused for obvious reasons. I got them impression from the woman in the phone that that was the first time that happened. I eventually ended the call and called the number on my card. Turned out it really was them. So dumb to teach customers that they'll get official cold calls asking for personal info.
Spoofing doesn't work in EU 🤷♀️ also the sim swapping is literally impossible
That's why this boomer not only doesn't use gmail, I also don't have a registered phone number. No calls trying to hack something I do not use. Never a tweet, no blue check to delete. Thank you, Nostr!
