I’ve been trying to do this, I haven’t been able to convince my wife. We are still debating that possibility.
Have you looked into the costs? If the kids have online instructors, all they really need is a quiet space. I wonder if it would work or if the kids need more supervision
Yeah but that’s not actually the reason of our disagreement, me and my wife, She’s worried about the “social” aspect. She believes is beneficial for them to be among other children their age. I’m actually willing to spend more money as long as I can get them out of the traditional system. That wouldn’t be an issue for me.
Oh shit. I'm sorry.
Oh no that’s alright, I mean school is fine, I just want to try something different.
Luk 6:39 KJV ...Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
Sorry I don’t really read the bible…
Children are stupid. How does putting them together by age improve the outcome of education? As an adult, do you normally interact only with people your same age?
“ putting them together by age improve the outcome of education” no, that’s not what I said at all, neither my wife thinks that “ do you normally interact only with people your same age?” The key word there is “only”. No I don’t only interact with people the same age, but mostly yeah. That’s normal.
Put children together of the same age, the girls will all compete to be the same, the boys will all compete for who is the most adult. If half the girls are raised by whores, all the girls will try to dress like whores. If one boy is neglected by his parents and he has to grow up fast, and is a rebellious troublemaker, all the boys will compete to be like him. The school system is designed to turn out broken people, by intention.
That depends on the kid and their age. Young kids need lots of help. Older kids, if you have instilled a love of learning and responsibility, are capable of learning on their own. I will say, that it does make a difference when a kid has a parent (or someone who loves them. Some friends of ours have grandma homeschooling) helping them. It builds closeness. It helps the kid if they are having problems. It helps the kid stay on track. Learning together is fun. Personally, I don't like dumping a kid in front of a screen, even if it is a lesson from the best teacher on earth, for hours of learning. If there is a subject you don't feel qualified to teach, making use of online classes is handy. I've used some online classes, but I've never had the kids do all of their learning online.
