#FOSS folks, question: I’m thinking of making my email and associated services a bit more robust. #protonmail had a good reputation a while back but I haven’t kept up with news. Any reason to avoid it? Good/bad experiences or business practices?

I *know* Linux people will have opinions. Let’s hear them 😁
Protonmail officially scans all unencrypted e-mails.
They keep private keys.
You can create locally own key and upload to Protonmail but the key must be generated without password!
They just builds another closed garden (calendar, disk, password manager etc.) Privacy word is a selling point for them.

Make an assessment on your own.
