Ernest Hemingway was found dead of a shotgun wound in the head at his home. His wife, Mary, said that he had killed himself accidentally. The gun accidentally discharged while cleaning the weapon. Hemingway had a long struggle with various ailments; there was physical and mental deterioration in the years and months leading up to his death. He suffered from bipolar disorder, alcohol dependence, traumatic brain injury, and probable borderline and narcissistic personality traits. nostr:nevent1qqsgc0ays0c3hcl9dujfq3e4xtcu3hyvzwdf9qfxugvp088kcvff0cqpr3mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmqzyqupm0x8zw82hxn3aq2v27phe8tz8aqrdmqzgrhnqgesdp8lezec7qcyqqqqqqg92f62p
I have a similar argument with Alan Watts, he and Hemmingway had much to say, a lot of it valid then, and now. Just because they both met ends that may have seemed contradictory to what they preached, doesn't make their words any less valid🫂.
