The point is you dont know all your future POIs :-)
I've also found them by seeing their content reposted (so I follow from that) And if they are new, you can usually tell it's them by the posts they make. Finally if it is a friend or known person, meet them face to face. That's the best way to do even Signal, SimpleX etc. too.
