Any #opensource #linux people using #Garmin watches such as the Instinct 2 series? Someone recommended these watches. I'm looking something to use with training & as a daily watch to help me live more healthy. What's your experience? Which software do you use to analyse the data? How's the support from Garmin for Linux regarding updates & such? Can you use it without any connection to proprietary apps? Boosts appreciated!
@19096fe6 I do use a garmin instinct v2 since 2 years, and I do not recommend it: - steps counter is not reliable, except for metronomic walks, - GPS consume battery a lot (in 4-5 hours you're down), - battery speaking, under 5*C it's a joke, - when you pause an activity for some hours plus some minutes, sometimes, but not always, the hours are forgotten, the minutes remains, and stats are fucked up. - When using USB to see kml-like files, I see more than once data corruption.
