 We had a big boxy Shenandoah stove like that when I was a kid. Spent the summers splitting logs. Winters hauling wood up 3 flights. Good times, who knew??? 😂 

 Sounds like the stove kept you warm 3x over. Warm from splitting, warm from hauling, warm from burning.

 I miss my wood stove. Everyone would tell me I smelled good too lol 

 I love the smell, the warmth it gives off and the ambiance it gives to a room. Sort of that ancient feeling
