The average age of women’s skateboard park competition medalists is 15… I’m sure they’re amazing, but what is it about Women’s skateboarding which is causing the winners to be so young? The Men’s medalists in the same sport had an average age of 25… The eldest Men’s medalist is twice as old as the Women’s winner. @Global Sports Central whats going on? https://www.instagram.com/p/C-Vh9V6pwJT/
Because at age 25 she should be pregnant with a baby on each hip, barefoot in the kitchen making pie. Honestly have no idea but I questioned that too. There was a big controversy years ago with Chinese women gymnasts being teenagers and sometimes younger.
At 25, I was ready to start dismantling the system 💪
Right there.
Maybe women's skateboarding only grew popular very recently so those 15 yos are actually the oldest generation that started it?
There’s a guy on the Men’s side who’s in the same competition and he’s 51! https://inews.co.uk/sport/olympics/andy-macdonald-skateboarding-gb-olympics-51-american-3211335
If you flip the age numbers, it's 15 too
He definitely doesn’t look 15. ;-D
😂
Thus is almost a marketing stunt, his a big name on the sport, IMO this is only for the camera
Maybe women grow out of their skater phases faster than men
Not information just a random thought, the older generation got to the sport as teenagers, this generation is already practicing as little kids. I think this has a lot of impact in the results, and as gymnastics this children's are able to twist there body's in a way that with age the pain is unbearable.
I got my first skateboard in 1977. I was 7. So I think you've skipped about 4 generations.
When i was kid in the 90's i would say that 99% where boys, today i see a lot more girls with a skate
The Brasílian girl was the Veteran at age of 23 😂🤣
Maybe a woman's body shape changes, but at 15 they are still boyish enough to be good skateboarders.
I wrote this note this morning and I just logged into my bank and made a payment. How is it that I haven't been debanked yet?
