Honestly, I think there is every chance that this will lead to Godot -becoming- that, and people aggressively moving forward with it, and there's now an emotional investment that hopefully will carry people forward into actually setting it up and working on it.
I'm just slightly bemoaning that Unity is not going to be that (regardless of if they 'walk this back'), and nobody should touch that engine for new projects.
Here's hoping something takes the place.
@484aac85 @b92dcc07 Yeah, I agree that that could happen with Godot, but sadly even if it does, we’ll likely have 2-3 years of “not so great” while it catches up. Hopefully it will be as quick as it can be…
