Not particularly, I just like it for context when something strikes my fancy.  Like, we went to Paris, so I got into French history, which is vast, and one book led to another.  One time I got interested in Genghis Khan.  This summer, I decided I didn’t know enough about Roman history, so I read a book.  One could spend a lifetime there.  It will probably lead to a book on Greek history.
