Have any of y’all tried acupuncture and have experiences they don’t mind sharing?

I don’t know enough about it, but am very curious 🤔
It's relaxing to me. Made me fall asleep.
Was that your goal going into it? Or did you go for like a medical thing
I was going for the experience. To see if I like it. Nothing in particular, but someone said afterwards that I needed sleep. True.
 So interesting. Did it hurt?
You would think, but no, I am super sensitive to touch

I would do it regularly if I could afford life.
Okay that’s good to know. I’m kind of afraid of needles, but desperate
Keep us posted if you try it 💋
We met with my wife's physiatrist the other day. He said that it's worth trying it out. You gotta give it a few sessions. Like a half dozen. And see if it does anything.
Right on! I’m assuming results vary depending on level of expertise and what not. I’m wondering how it works (or if) for physical pain
My wife has Cerebral Palsy and she's always in pain.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Or if you check it out give me an update!
Please do and good luck to y’all 🫂🥰
Yes I love it but only if they leave them in for a long time and let your body do the work.
About how long do you think?
My guy leaves me there for 30min with heat lamps…so divine
Ahhh ok so not like days haha, I can do that
 Lol no 😂😂😂
 I did.

I did it for:

Pain relief
Persistent sinus infection

Honestly I don’t know if it helped or not.

It certainly didn’t hurt! So even if for a placebo, I think it was of value.

I’m a huge proponent of Chiropractic care and in general, natural solutions.

Would I try acupuncture again? Yes!

Can I correlate having it a few times to feeling/getting better? Not really.

But like I said, I’m certain it did not cause the opposite affect.
That’s what I get a lot. Kind of the “it doesn’t hurt to try” sentiment. I still kind of want to try it
May I ask what it’s for? (Like what problem you trying to solve)?

PS no pressure to answer, my response either way was probably going to be “start with chiropractic care then later on Accupunture if you want to try and “boost” the results”
But generally my experience has been it’s a small improvement and I’d rather invest that time and money into other areas of my health where I KNOW the result is happening
No worries. It’s back pain from endometriosis 🫂
talk to me over voice about it sometime on hive
Pleaseeee. I need your positive ass in my life 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Acupunctura function similar to reflexoterapi there are meridians in the body witch focus energy points there are use to heal
Acupuncture only works after doing it for multiple sessions say like 8+ for example. If you want results try "Cupping" this is recommended by the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. You may notice the circles marking from cupping on most athletes at the Olympic games. The classical form of cupping is extremely beneficial as it focuses the blood flow in a different direction to improve circulation to the area you seek to increase recovery. But just to get a taste of cupping you can easily but these suction cups online that come with a pump. You attach the cup and pump and try it out.

TLDR
Cupping is superior to acupuncture.
I already did cupping in PT and it did not have much effects for what I’m dealing with
it does work. I've used it more than once to fix gone-numb fingers (packing tape gun overuse...) and the surprise was that the needles for that win were place in my shoulder!

I've tried the dedicated woowoo-type office and the in-the-strip-mall "community access" booth-n-chairs chains (turned out to be a stealth Pfizer outfit!). I get good results in both settings.

Chris Kresser says that the term "meridian" was mistranslated. I don't even have a good guess about what's really going on with the needles and the energy. but I don't need to. for me, it works.
Yeah I feel the exact same way. Like it sounds weird, but if it works, gimme. Haha 🥰
make sure to go to a reputable place! a close friend of mine got a horrid infection from a place that I guess was using dirty needles and it had caused him to end up in the hospital for a few months
Highly recommend. Helped me rid of a wicked fungal shit on my finger. Dr. Kim MVP
Not personally but it's helped a friend with whiplash. He had to try a few people. Not everyone does the trick.
My mom used laser acupuncture to quit smoking 10+ years ago now…
No personal experience, but have had a number of friends swear that it was the only thing that helped with their pains.
Dad tried it for back pain (avid tennis, golfer, hunter, runner), it worked for a while, but always required tweaks after six months. Better than surgery! Another friend (surfer) swears by chiropractor.
I tried it for hand pain (later diagnosed as arthritis) and it didn’t really help to be honest but I know other people who’ve found it effective.
