I grew up in a small suburb that was surrounded by farmland - now it’s got several times the population, 1 dead mall, and the innumerable new townhouses start at $450k. Even the downtown bowling alley where I took bowling in high school is being torn down to put in more townhouses and condos. The Fair has remained one of the Official Calendar Events in town though. The Fair was always a big day at school for me growing up because everyone had the entire day off and EVERYONE went to the Fair. Great times! Took my son to the Fair several times and had a blast.
think about how much fun everyone has at a fair, just checking out how cool farmers and their various farm equipment and produce and livestock are. public schools even agreed that it was important that the kids should have Friday off to go check it out, even though it happens every year. they only have half the day off now because it’s more important to be in school.
