Few users have a clue what you mean when you talk about this. I don't get it, and I feel like I'm missing out, but... I can't wrap my head around it.
Its because users don't even see when that happens, but for instance Android allows one app to pull notifications regularly and broadcast them locally to all apps for processing and display. That's how any notification works on Android.
Google or ChatGPT can explain this perfectly. On ChatGPT, you can even ask it to explain something as if speaking to a 5-year-old child.
I don't use either of those.
