Oddbean new post about login | logout @df714b58 Too bad Stephen King went woke. Some of his books I had reread many times. IT and THE STAND come to mind. And he's just so mean and nasty on Twitter/X. Really hard to associate the fact that some of the characters and psychological insights from the books came from such a douche. Dude needs to look in the mirror, or maybe he has and doesn't like what he saw. Taking it out on everyone.

@df714b58 Maybe, he didn't seem that angry before. He had written a book ON WRITING. Explaining what drove him and what might help others. In some of his other books he wrote some of his history. I don't even remember, it's been so long since I've read it. I know he grew up poor, without a dad, I think. Some of his books were written while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, I think the later ones. His son Joe Hill has written some great stuff, as well as his wife, Tabitha King.
