The progressive movement seemed to die about a decade ago. What happened? Why is bitcoin important for progressives, why should they care, those that found a calling in occupy and beyond?

We get into all of it. nostr:note1f0cmvvsq264e3ptl6mk4vwxc4mwhc46xw2eklffvwcky3rk90sjsknwtgy
Because we realized that real progressives had no representation in government. None.
Even those that have been consistent and honorable are simply powerless to do anything. All we can do is watch the car go over the cliff.
Do you agree that it basically died with Obama being elected?

From my ground level view that's what it seemed like. All of a sudden I was the only one who still opposed war and corporate bailouts or cared about mass deportations and the war on drugs.
No, I think the progressive moment came into maturity under Obama and died when Bernie lost the second time.
That's fair. I am skipping right over the Occupy era. Still, it sucked when all the antiwar lefties disappeared. I don't think the left has reached its Bush era antiwar heights.
