 i crocheted many beanies & some scarves back in the day.  fun part was figuring out sequences to get the shapes you wanted.  and it was slow in a nice meditative way.

 I do not wind my yarn until I'm done working on a project and I have leftover yarn. If I wind my yarn too early, my cat thinks that it's a toy LOL
