Road to the sea

At the age of twelve, he left to see the sea. He was caught and brought back.

At twenty, he went again. But he met the girl he stayed with.

At thirty, he wondered, "Did I choose the right road?"

At fifty he went again, but his heart failed him.

There were many roads to the sea.

But he never made it to the end of any of them.
