No problem. Yeah the nprofile is like a universal collection of all your metadata (npub, photo, profile text, zap address, and the outbox relays you have set). Sites like njump.me and nosta.me pull that nprofile and display all your values in a nice organized page. If you update your info in your client, theoretically it should instantly be reflected on those sites. nosta.me works fine, but njump.me, which is more widely used across the Nostr spectrum, isn't appropriately displaying current and accurate information. It's not the end of the world, but it is frustrating. Here's my njump.me page which isn't accurate >> https://njump.me/nprofile1qqsxtyf20tghl4w08wkva96e7wl28fz0ngeewdqw2kw0qeu5thrr30cpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszythwden5te0dehhxarj9ekxzmny9uq3samnwvaz7tmrv4kxcctj9ehx7um5wgh8w6twv5hs3mk2px And here's my nosta.me page which is accurate >> https://nosta.me/nprofile1qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcpzamhxue69uhhymmrddujumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcqypjez2n669latnem4n8fwk0nh636gnu6xwtngrj4nncx09zaccut7jkf7se That should give you an idea of what I'm talking about
🙏🏽 appreciate the run down, can’t get over how helpful ppl are on nostr! I’d heard of njump prior to joining but not nosta.me, the nosta.me page looks better to me
We're a friendly bunch! It's in all of our interests to help people get started and informed since it's not the straightforward experience of mainstream social media platforms. And I definitely agree that nosta.me is a lot more human friendly than njump.me!
And I wasn't sure if you had been zapped yet, so I just zapped you a few sats. You're officially a member of the club! 😁
Thanks man 🙏🏽 ⚡️yeah I’m slowly getting into it got the wallet set up with the client, next step self hosted ln node on a home server ha ha that might be a ways off yet
There are other options that you may find easier, at least in the beginning. If you're using Android, I highly recommend Minibits Wallet, and if you're using iOS or desktop, I suggest Coinos.io. Both are free, and have a set of features that fully integrate the wallet into Nostr. They also both support ecash as well as lightning, so they're even more useful than a lightning-only wallet. Minibits is non-custodial, meaning you hold your own keys, and Coinos.io is custodial, meaning they basically act as a bank and hold your keys on your behalf. Non-custodial involves a bit more responsibility on your part since you are totally in control of your funds. If you lose your keys, you've lost everything in your wallet. Coinos.io can also be used on Android since it's web-based if you prefer that system. Try both and see what you like more! I'm not totally familiar with the wallet you're using now, so I can't give you a good comparison with the two wallets I mentioned.
