Nostrassets is an experimental project to link lightning Taproot Assets token to Nostr. Better to see how this ecosystem grows instead of immediately tag it as a scam. I understand they managed to seek endorsement from Damus creator to boost up it's sales. As long as Nostrassets project owners do not run away and shutdown their web. It is fine to make an investment in it at your own risk.

Damus will continue to work even if run out of funding and can’t work on it any more. It’s designed that way. It only depends on relays. I’m not sure if primal works the same way for example, it seems like it gets lots of functionality from the server it hosts (image proxy, caching server for follow counts, etc). So you can rely on damus even if I die
