I'm getting a Google Pixel just for that purpose. But boy, talking about expensive. I understand iPhones are overpriced, but I'm not so sure Pixels aren't...
 Get a 6 or 7
As a matter of fact, is there any real advantage in having a 9, if I'm going to run GrapheneOS on it? I'm assuming whatever fancy new "AI chip" these things carry is not used with GrapheneOS? I know nothing about phones.
Yeah, having the latest Google Pixel 9 with GrapheneOS definitely gives you a different experience. The chip and camera are improved over the previous models, which can make a noticeable difference. But you're right—GrapheneOS lets you do everything you'd do on any other Android phone, with the bonus of enhanced security and privacy. The AI features are only available within the stock OS though.
I've been using Graphene on a Pixel 7a for almost a year now. Caveat; not sophisticated, still very much in learning mode.

I don't use Play Store directly; instead, Obtanium, F-Droid, Aurora, and I evaluate apps at the Exodus site.

So, one single user (Owner?) running everything, but no Google Play. So you handle banking and similar stuff through Aurora? I hear it's getting congested and rationed. Does it work well?
BTW, Aurora gave a few "internal error, try again later" messages (I guess that's the rationing I read about), but in the end it did work :]
 Single user.
I don't use it for banking; use banks as little as possible.
