@1bd21f55 I mean, who knows, I could do the falling through a floor thing too. Or die of mesothelioma. One way or another though I'm going to die so at least I have that reassurance
@25b5e014 I had an episode where I ended up in the ER with a pulmonary embolism once; Another time, I ended up there finding out I was going through a heart attack. Seriously, being five minutes from a world class hospital was tremendous; one of those, I had Uber take me to the ER. So yeah, we are going to be taken out.
@1bd21f55 I have often wondered if one day I'm going to find out I already had a few minor ones mixed in with the panic attacks. I'm glad you made it through okay. To me dying isn't the scary part but the process of getting there leaves a bit to be desired.
@25b5e014 OK, so here I will make you squirm. On the episode with blood clots, they decided they needed to put in a catheter and they put The New Guy on it. Well, he fucked it up, scraped the ureter, and it turned into a scene for alien. How much blood do you want to see pouring out of your penis? Guarantee this was WAY MORE. they pulled it, mopped up my going and spent the rest of the time trying to convince me that they should try again WHICH I REFUSED. STOP MESSING WITH MY BLOODY JUNK, JGSAW!!

They finally brought in an older urologist with very gentle hands who was able to get the catheter done. Still took quite while for the blood and entrails to be cleaned up.
@1bd21f55 oh no. That's a very bad story and I'm sorry you had to live it
@25b5e014 it’s funny when I tell friends and they can’t stop wincing. Amusingly, hardly any women seem to have any sympathy.
@1bd21f55 pain is pain. You may not have the parts to identify with the exact type of hurt but it's still awful to think about.
@25b5e014 One of my clients was a doctor, and he had us take asbestos training during wok n the buildings. But then he said that mesothelioma is based on decades of exposure, and if you are in those places, when you see the powdery asbestos, breathe through your nose. He had us take the class for insurance purposes, but as a doctor, he was barely concerned; it's not as if a few asbestos particle will kill you.
@1bd21f55 yeah, and you have to kick it up into the air, too - which I'm sure I've done. Idk. My wife is always worried about my safety which I appreciate and don't ever want to minimize the value of, but I also don't want to live a life where I kowtow to fear constantly
@25b5e014 yeah, never squeeze the corrugated pipe wrap. But one of the stupidest things ever was the huge push to remove VAT from schools, because it was perfectly safe in place, especially if you put a new flooring or carpet over it. But breaking it up to remove it created a massive increase in particulates, resulting in higher level of asbestos for YEARS afterward.
@1bd21f55 well if the asbestos doesn't get me I'm sure a lot of other chemicals I've inhaled in abandoned places will be happy to do it
