What did Assange tell us that those paying attention didn't already know since the 60's thanks to organizations like the John Birch Society and freedom fighter militia groups throughout the US?

The bigger questions are . . . what was the cost of Assange's freedom? What did he exchange? What did the people lose in the this so called exchange?
