Brazils constitution is huge, have a lot of vague terms etc. So, they can “interpret” anyway they want.
The Senate has the power to impeach scotus justices, but they are afraid because scotus is the one that judges all the politics in criminal cases.
So no one wants to step up to the plate and say this is messed up?

Is the other party (is it still bolosonaro?) against this stuff?

Like is there a movement in Brazil who thinks this judge is crazy?
What will people do? They have all the power. The most influential right wing politicias all have “investigations” for “fake news against democracy”

Bolsonaro, for exemple, was declared ineligible for 8 years by the supreme electoral court, which is controlled by the supreme court.

In the elections, they prohibited the most impacting bolsonaro ads, they did everything so lula could win.

The mainstream media is on supreme courts side, becausa social media are bad for their business.

Only external pressure could change something. Or armed revolution — that will never happen because they also have passed norms against people buying guns.
I think the problem is that the Brazilian constitution was written as a tool of social engineering
Not a contract that has the target to limit state power and protect individual rights
