 As a former athlete: some benefits of sports were developing stamina, teamwork & learning how winning and losing effected myself and others. 

But, I grew up in a time when not everyone received participation trophies. Give them participation trophies but allow others to be winners & losers in games as well. 

This is a hill I’ve screamed on for the last 25 years.
