Ecash on Bitcoin enables digital payments that preserve your privacy, just like physical cash.

No speculation, no token, no VC. Just free and open-source software. Cashu is a protocol that aims to bring instant, cheap, and censorship-resistant payments to everyone.

Why is ecash different than any shit coin?
No speculation, no token, no VC, no wash trading, no blockchain, no ledger

It’s cash
Fun fact: ecash "mints" are fractional reserve banks.
I mean. They can be, but don’t have to be

There are already ways to cryptographically verify that the mint is not cheating and these will improve

Plus fractional reserve banks used fiat credits and don’t speak Lightning

And all require ID
 Proof of reserves 👊
Can I buy ecash with fiat non kyc and then buy bitcoin with ecash?
I think board walk cash is sort of working on a flow that helps with this
I haven’t heard of that one
Don’t you still have to rely on a 3rd party rugging. Of course same fate with lightning too but still.

Just a question not bashing.
Ecash is just used for transactions over the cashu protocol. Ecash acts as a token for transfer. Imagine you go to a casino and buy tokens. You spend the tokens on slots and win tokens. When your done you cash out the tokens back into cash.
I used it to weeks ago. If was seamless just was wondering on the peeps running the mint.
 Ahh! I’ve got no idea.
 Yep of course

That party can be federated, though, and they can only censor everyone or no one, not selectively
 Thank you
 💯
I should have asked you in Berlin, but do you think ecash would be a viable alternative to lightning for the case of Arnhem Bitcoin City, where more than 60 merchants accept bitcoin over lightning? A dinner bill can easily go over €100,- and we often receive bitcoin tourists who only stay for a day.
