 Visited my dad today. He's improving on a daily basis. He's now using a walker, "walking like a natural man." (movie reference) 😃  If he hadn't been walker and cane averse, not sure he'd be in this situation in the first place. 
 @3967703f glad to hear he’s doing better. I have a 95 year old mom. It isn’t easy for them getting older and losing their independence. 

I suspect for my mom there’s an element of fear behind it that if she “gives in” to help, walkers or people, then it’s all downhill from there. I try to remember it’s not about stubbornness so much as not wanting to lose control. I have to admire that she’s willing to stay in the fight as long as possible.

My 90 year old dad wouldn't use his walker because 'it made him look old'. Ageism can be self destructive.
