@27823c36 maybe switch to johnston's baby shampoo, its a lot more gentle on skin. also get a hairbrush with actual hog bristle for occasional exfoliation of the scalp. I used to have dandruff when I used harsher shampoos, but maybe the etiology of my problem was different
@5c2ba53d I initially thought the problem was that I use conditioner for like a week and then shampoo, like, once a week, but... nope. This is a "dry skin on scalp" thing, as evinced by the fact that I've got a dry patch on my forehead, too. (not as pronounced fortunately)
@27823c36 does your existing shampoo have sodium lauryl sulphate? that detergent is hard as heck on a lot of people's skin (gives me acne too). like it breaks bonds in the epidermis that help keep moisture in, I think
@5c2ba53d first ingredient in the shampoo, after water. Heck!
@27823c36 now, baby shampoo won't clean as easily or quickly but it seems okay for my twice weekly washing. i guess there are other fancy shampoos that are also gentle on skin, but i haven't been inclined to go any more upmarket than johnson's baby shampoo.

have never tried the dandruff shampoo so no opinions on it
@5c2ba53d head and shoulders has been recommended as the "nuke from orbit" option, and it worked back in the 90s. 🤔
