If your approach to growing #nostr involves telling the most active and passionate subset of its users to shut up and talk about other things, then I cannot take you seriously. You need to get more creative.
i think that if you wanna talk about bitcoin that’s okay, but also we should be open to more user based beyond bitcoin as well
Who has expressed a desire to remain closed to other topics and users?
What's the point of having a censorless social media if these clowns want us to shut up?
it's not growing anymore as almost all of the bitcoiners are already here ... would be great to change the tune a bit, otherwise this will be not so much about freedom, but mostly about 'tik tok next block'
Bitcoiners/creators who produce bitcoin content are finding market fit with Nostr for their content and audiences. That in turn drives more bitcoiners to use the network and engage in those types of conversations. That’s good and valid and it needs to continue to grow and thrive. Bitcoiners have clear reasons for wanting to use Nostr. The question that needs to be addressed in my mind is what will incentivize other types of content and the creators of that content to want to use Nostr?
i'm with you, this is the big question to answer ... and i've got no satisfying answer to this atm
Money, or secondarily, increased reach that will grow their audience, which will in turn lead to money. People who create content for a living see it as a business, and even though the topic of their content may be something they love and are passionate about, it doesn’t make good business sense to pour substantial amounts of time into something that won’t make money. What will it take for serious creators to make money on Nostr? Zaps are one way, if people will spend enough sats (lolol). Ads may be another way, but is that the direction we want to see Nostr go? Sponsorships/grants of some sort are another way that I think could be promising. If an individual or company that believes in Nostr has the means to do so, then they could sponsor an artist/writer/musician/video maker/etc. that they like to bring their content to Nostr. In return they could arrange a deal with the artist to receive a split of whatever revenue they earn from Nostr. The creator would be free then to spend their time producing more content and use it to recruit their audiences to join the network.
