Satoshi Nakamoto's brilliance was not dimmed by him hiding behind a pseudonym, neither was the creator of Nostr. When you have good ideas, they can break through any barrier. Just look at how many are using nostr and bitcoin to this day, even without knowing who created them! Ideas are humanity's most powerful weapon.

I don't believe Satoshi hid because of fear of persecution, assassination, etc. I think he knew that fame is a curse.

There is a difference in context here, and you've done a good job of completely missing my point.
Satoshi from the beginning hid behind pseudonyms, not out of fear of fame, he probably already knew what this would turn into in the success we see today. So he probably did this to protect the system, himself and the people around him. Fame in itself is not a curse, it is just recognition. Now when we are talking about someone who made the biggest financial transformation in the world, it is simply logical to think that there would be huge retaliation if their identity was discovered. so the probability of him having gone into hiding for fear of retaliation is greater than that of fear of fame.

note: sorry if I didn't understand your point correctly, I'm still learning English and I could have interpreted it wrong too.
