Well said. Reminds me of a spoken part from "Animation in a Still World" by Images of Eden:

"You have been programmed from birth to accept certain ‘undeniable truths’ but you have not always been presented with evidence that support these ‘truths’. If you happen to uncover evidence that disproves what you have been taught to believe, you will be silenced by the establishment.

Now remember, you are being lied to, so question everything and trust your senses. They do not lie." 

 I can 💯 relate. With the information overload, I noticed that knowing one self and going inward has never been more valuable. You cannot lie to those who are in tune to their inner self. ☺️ I never you get it right all the time. It only means to trust your gut even more. 👌 

 I grew up in a Roman Catholic household, rejected it, started a secular meditation practice, then gradually studied Buddhism. Today I'm a practicing Buddhist.

Why?

Because over the years I learned to rely on myself, not others. Catholicism teaches one to look for an external savior. Buddhism teaches one to look inside for what one needs. 

So the latter is much more synchronized with my worldview.
