I believe Nostr will enable way more self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Unscalable businesses, ones that require personal attention have a natural outlet here on Nostr. If you're using a platform to sell your services, you have to pay the platform and your work gets taxed. Building out via word of mouth, SEO and a website is a whole lot of work in of itself.

On Nostr, you can show endorsements. You have a natural network of people you know. There's an easy means of payment. And most importantly, you don't have to pay a tax to a platform. You can grow your own business without being dependent on some platform.
I wonder what types of businesses lend themselves best to the Nostr protocol 🤔
Matchmaking of all types (e.g. dating, recruiting, mentoring, etc.)
Any form of specialized labor (e.g. dentist, plumber, lawn care, etc.)
Custom made-to-order goods
 Nostr-based Upwork, Uber, AirBnB, etc.

It will be hard to get past the centralized platforms' network effect, but hey, that's what they said about Twitter too.
 Wise words
 Apple store 30% commission👋
 Protocols > platforms
Just the ability to do this is amazing, can't wait until there is more structure to order notes into stores and galleries with products and services.

This thread below was looking at how nostr and more specifically nostr protocol developers might be starting to think about how to scale clients and do so while keeping the user/nostr as "friendly" as it is today.

Love it! I have a fruit/veg garden and built a mini kitchen island, kitchen cabinets and flipped a hard wood chest drawer last year (after a flood destroyed most furnitures). I have been struggling with the garden bench - but that’s because it was cheaper to get meranti where I’m from but I did not realise how much force was needed lol. Your videos has a nice mix of DIYs and fixes!
 What do you grow?
Fruits avacado, citrus, star fruit, Ciku (tropical), veg right now lots of Brazilian spinach lol. And stuff for cooking pandan, lemon grass, curry leaves. Had batches of tomatoes, chillies, onions, potatoes, egg plants, lots of herbs, bunch of others but hectic workload hard to keep up. Do you have your own garden ?
😍 Yes I do veggie gardening and some trees. My climate is harsher than tropical though. During the winter my peas and onions handled the frost well. My sage doesn't care if it is freezing or super hot! Red mulberries are going berzerk, I could propagate them just by pruning and sticking the branches in the soil!
Is it hard managing a garden through diff seasons? it’s rain and sun here all year long
You are lucky! Yes a bit hard but if you find correct varieties you could still produce
