My wife’s father, who lives in Taipei, was chatting to her on the phone yesterday, and mentioned he had heard that Birmingham council had gone bankrupt. 

We truly are fucked as a country. Not only are we fucked, but we spray out the news of our fuckedness worldwide, and in languages other than English;  other than European even.
